Kim is a graduate of West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster, and is currently preparing to write the board exams to become a Registered Massage Therapist. As a former high-level athlete and personal trainer, Kim draws from her understanding of how biomechanical stress affects the body, and is therefore better suited to help her patients recover faster and progress more effectively. She believes that functional, pain-free movement is essential in obtaining optimal health; whether working out, at work, or while taking part in regular daily activities. During her time at West Coast College, Kim had the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, including UBC varsity athletes, prenatal and postnatal patients, as well as patients dealing with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and Muscular Dystrophy.
As a Bodyworker, Kim uses General Swedish Massage and a variety of stretching techniques to help relax and lengthen muscles. She is also a firm believer that the use of home care modalities such as heat/cold, active stretching, and strengthening exercises play a vital role in aiding treatments and improving her patient’s health and wellness, as well as preventing future regression.
